Ian D. Merritt is a professional photographer on the north side of Chicago. Ian spends much of his time as the staff photographer for Cars.com, shooting various things car related. In addition, he freelances all over the Chicagoland area doing weddings, events, portraits, consumer and fine art photography. He is currently a member of the co-operative artist’s group known as Images Gallery.

Ian uses Canon Digital Cameras although he DOES like Nikon Cameras and THOSE that use them. His first camera was his mother’s Kodak Disk but he soon upgraded to his father’s Pentax K1000. He is still not allowed to touch his father’s Nikon F1 or many of the fantastic lens’ that reside on the shelf next to it. Ian moved around a bit before spending many of his formative years in the fine state of Vermont. He still shoots with his 4×5 occasionally and enjoys collecting antique cameras. In the past year or so, Ian has taken a shine to making lamps out of forgotten and broken household items.

Go out and make some art today. You’ll feel better.
